Most men (I’m one of them) struggle when it comes to genuine friendship and connection with other men. Let’s get gut level honest with one another for just a moment. Our tendency as men is to compete with one another, compare ourselves to one another, and hold each other at a distance because men think they are the only one struggling with a particular problem or sin. It is not macho at least that’s what the culture tells me to admit where I am defeated. What’s the result men living isolated lives, they wear the mask of self protection, and they exist day after day week after week, year after year and yes guys we do this even as Christians. We yearn to know our greater purpose. Does that describe you? Well if I am honest that describes me. I have a been a Christian for nearly 20 years but it was not until the last couple of years that I realized how much I needed my Christian brothers. The guys right in my local church dealing with the exact same stuff, the exact same baggage. I found brothers who would lock arms with me and encourage me to become all that God intended me to be. In addition to my brothers, one of the things God has used in this process is Vision New England Men’s Ministries. God is doing some incredible things here. God has used my broadcast partner Brian Doyle to reach men on a larger scale. I am blessed to be working along side of him. By profession I’m a radio guy, a broadcast producer with some experience and with God’s leading and blessing I stepped out in faith after I attended several men’s ministry events here in New England. I shared this vision with Brian and several godly men. Today men have a daily program. For a guy who has been married 7 years now with 2 small children, I not only need to know how to be God’s man, I want to be God’s man. I am most grateful to God for his calling on my life as a husband and a dad. Everything on these broadcasts before I say you need to hear it, I need to hear it. I earnestly pray that God will bless us together as we become all that he has planned for our lives. Let’s journey together brothers everyday. |
